Evans Family Marathon... Let's Rally

So sorry bloggy friends for being so absent this week. I have been quite busy at work (which is when I do most of my actual blog writing) and then Chad’s family is all in town for a wedding/anniversary party. So that clearly meant that, before spending so much quality time with the grandparents, we all had to go out and drink heavily while we had the chance.
Friday night, we went to our usual haunt, the Riverside. While we were there, Chad’s cousin Clint, who lives in Texas right now working as a diesel mechanic in the oil fields or whatever, came over and insisted we go next door. Where he proceeded to pay our cover and buy countless rounds of Patron. He actually ended up buying the bar out of Patron. Anyways, it was a blast.
Saturday (aka yesterday) was the wedding. It was at the Bybee Nims blueberry farm in North Bend. It is BEAUTIFUL there. And it is only 15 minutes away from our house. This is the view of the alter… the sun makes it hard to see, but Mt Si is right there in the background.

The ceremony was great, everybody looked so great in their dresses. Unfortunately I decided not to bring my camera for some godforsaken reason, so you will just have to trust me when I say it was beautiful. Cheryl and Ryan (the bride and groom, clearly) are HUGE Seahawk and Sounders fans, so the color theme was green and blue. Again… no camera at the wedding. However, let me tell you about the best part of the wedding. The tossing of the bouquet. Chad’s cousin and I have been in cahoots for a while about how desperately I need to get married. So she may or may not have turned around and thrown the bouquet right at me. This is it:

So that was day two of Evans family party rally. This afternoon was the celebration for Chad’s grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary. It was held at their church and there was a lot of strange sandwiches and about 6 different pasta salads (thank you sweet baby Jesus). It was neat to look at all the pictures around of Grammy and Grampy Evans that they had up (as well as a few pictures of Chad as a little fella and even more pictures of his dad as a long guy).
The weekend concluded with me coming home for a brief nap  before going to a barbecue dinner at Chad’s cousin’s house (or more appropriately, Chad’s cousin’s boyfriend’s house). It was a good end to the weekend because a) it was casual and we didn’t have to be fake nice around old people, and b) there was alcohol involved.
Overall, my weekend was exhausting, but I don’t have time to rest… I have a long week ahead of me while the boss lady is on vacation. Check back tomorrow for some Monday Moanings… I’m sure I will have a lot J

I'm definitely THAT girl who...

Slams on my brakes when a leaf blows across the road because I think it is a mouse
Can’t get rid of an article of clothing because it is so comfortable, even though it is falling apart
Gets frustrated with my weight and takes it out on a bag of McDonald’s
Buys endless amounts of kitchen utensils even though I live with my mom
Listens to the radio with the volume turned all the way up, but only when I am alone
Looks at both sides of my chips before I eat them to decide which side to let touch my tongue
Gets upset anytime someone adds an “h” to the end of the word HEIGHT
Hates going to the movies in the theater
Buys really cute shoes and never wears them
Shops for holiday decorations year round
Has hundreds of DVDs still in their packages

Well that is Pinteresting....

So I just recently started getting into Pinterest, so I am going to link up over at The Vintage Apple to show off some of my pins. (I don't know why the link up picture is all wonky, but whatev)

My first pin is of some really cute bathroom things that I want to get for when we actually are able to get a house (side note: our offer was declined on the house we saw this past weekend... boo)

Next I have a little multi animal print clutch that I found on Maurice's that I just love.
I know it is a little out of place, but I found this set up for Christmas of someone's foyer and I just adore it! I wish I had a house that I could set up with such a pretty display.

My birthday is a few months away (October 3rd, write it down), and this is the cake I want. It is a 5 layer neapolitan cake from Sweetapolita with strawberry frosting. Nummers!

Last but not least is a neat idea for gift wrap storage in my future gift wrap room.

That is all for now, but if you like what you see, please come back for more. I would LOVE to reach 10 followers :)

My. Worst. NIGHTMARE.

Please, stop chasing me with burning torches. I understand I have been slacking on my blogging lately. But I have been a little busy making offers on houses, bucking hay, cooking dinner, and closing down the bar with my late night shenanigans.

My weekend consisted of all of the things listed above. Chad and I went and put in an offer on the beautiful house I showed you last week. We should be finding out in the next couple days if our offer was accepted. Fingers crossed. I also had to go and buck hay on Chad’s family’s farm this weekend. Nothing like wasting the hottest day of the summer throwing hay around for an entire afternoon. As far as closing down the bar, I felt like a real bad ass. That is the second time in my life I have been at the bar until last call. A friend of mine is in town from the Air Force for a couple weeks, so we were going to go down and have “a drink”. Well that drink turned into MANY drinks and a big party basically. Good times.
Anyways, that is my weekend in review. In other news… I am still a big fatty. Ugh, I am back to my starting weight BEFORE I started Medifast. I fell off the wagon when I went to Vegas due to the fact that when you are in Vegas, you aren’t going to be stopping every 2 hours to mix up your pouch of soup or oatmeal. Then when I got back, I kept meaning to order more supplies because most of what I had left was the kinds that I deemed too disgusting to eat. But after looking at myself in the mirror today and seeing STRETCH MARKS on my stomach (DUN DUN DUNNNN!) I said to myself “dear Carly, you lazy pile, get your ass in gear and lose this weight.” I have been the chubby girl my whole life, but never ONCE have I seen a stretch mark on my body. Not okay.
So, that is my devastation at the moment. As I type, I am digesting my disgusting Medifast chicken noodle soup and drooling at the thought of my Everything bagel with cream cheese that is sitting by the fridge waiting for me.

Home Sweet Home

So, as you may or may not know, Chad and I have been together for over 6 years. Periodically throughout those 6 years, we have really gotten the homeowner itch. Usually we find a great house, sit around talking about how awesome it is, and then it sells. Then we say "well shoot" and continue with our lives.

Recently, I have had that old familiar feeling of really wanting to get my own place. So, I tend to sit at work, and look for houses online within my potential budget... which is cheap. Most of the places I find are crap, and therefore would cost more to fix than they would cost to actually purchase. Until a couple days ago. When I ran across this diamond in the rough:

Seriously... I LOVE THIS HOUSE. Mostly the kitchen. Please. I urge you to scroll back up and look at that kitchen again. Two ovens. Six burners. AND a griddle. All in one place! And there is a fireplace IN THE BATHROOM. Granted it is a little odd because it is the same fireplace as in the living room, and you can see through it. Into the bathroom. Very strange. French doors in the master bedroom out into a little patio area. And the garage is big enough to fit all me and Chad's toys. And there is a built in grill on the back patio... but it needs to be replaced. But all in all, this house is A-MAZING for the price. Soooo... we are putting an offer in tomorrow morning!!

Wish us luck!!!

Boob Tube Babble, one day late

Well kids, I know I watch basically the same shows all the time, but here I am linking up with Neely for a little bit of Boob Tube Babble. These are the shows I am watching right now:
Switched at Birth: This is another ABC Family show that I have gotten really into. For those of you who don’t know, it is about two girls whose families find out that there was a mixup at the hospital when they were born, and they went home with the wrong parents. They meet each other and they all start trying to live as one big, weird family. There was a really great ending to this week’s episode when Daphne discovers that her mom has secretly always known about the mix up and she has a big guitar case full of pictures of Bay (her biological daughter). Intense.

Teen Mom: I am so glad that they brought back the original girls. Although I could do without Amber and Gary in my life, because I think they are a waste of TV time and they have too many issues to deal with and they should be seeking counseling, not viewers. Maci is by far my favorite Teen Mom. I am glad that she made Kyle meet Ryan, but I secretly still wish for her and Ryan to get back together because he is way hotter. And Farrah… I am torn between how I feel about her. Sometimes I love her because she is strong and not afraid to say how she feels, and she has been doing her best for Sophia since day one. But other times I hate her because she is very impulsive and her quick mouth can sometimes make her look like a real bitch.

Celebrity Rehab: This is another show that I was happy to see come back. While I feel like a lot of these celebrities just do it for the money, they all have real issues and I like to believe that they are taking something away from the experience. I was especially excited to see that the kid that played Hoby Buchanan on Baywatch (the guy that was the Hoff’s son on the show) is on there. I was basically in love with him in 3rd grade. I couldn’t tell you his REAL name though… Jeremy something. He is still pretty hot, but now that I know he has a severe steroid addiction, some of the mystery is gone.

That's it for now my friends.

Prom Dress Challenge

Well, I was going to link up with The Heir to Blair for McFatty Monday this week... but then I waited and waited for her to post her link up, and it never came. So, here it is on Wednesday, and I am going to just post my post now.

For those of you who are unaware, I am DYING to get married. Seriously. I can not wait for the day that Chad gets down on one knee and gives me a big, shiny, sparkly diamond ring so we can move forward with my fairy tale.
Unfortunately, Chad is NOT dying inside for this to happen. Clearly. It isn't so much that he doesn't want to marry me someday (as he has assured me numerous times), but he is in no rush. And he doesn't want to marry a whale. Those are my words, not his, he has never said anything like that to me. But I know he thinks it. And, honestly, I wouldn't want to walk down the aisle looking the way I do right now anyways, which he knows.

So this brings me to my Prom Dress Challenge. Chad told me on our recent trip to Vegas (see my last post for pictures) that as soon as I can fit into my dress from senior prom, he will start ring shopping for me. Now, I was no where near a size zero in high school, but that size 9 skirt and size 3 (!!!!!) top are so far out of the realm of my wardrobe right now, it's not even funny. Insert picture of me wearing dress this morning...

.... no picture. You see. I was going to take a picture of myself with the dress on (clearly not zipped or anything) to give you an idea of how far I have to go. But then I couldn't even get that damn skirt up past my lower thighs. So there we have it... wish me luck!!

That's What You Get for Waking Up in Vegas

Well my friends, I have returned from Vegas in one piece. But I may have acquired a gambling problem in the form of one particular slot machine and video blackjack. Good thing Kenny (the BFFL’s boyfriend) got me one of those little pamphlets with the 1-800 number on it for me to call for support. Anyways, I’ll get on to the pictures/Vegas stories.
First I will be listing my 3 favorite things about the trip:
  1. The Tournament of Kings at Excaliber. For those of you who aren’t familiar, it is a $65 dinner show that starts with soup, followed by a WHOLE Cornish game hen with veggies, and ending with dessert. No silverware allowed! And all the while you watch men in tights (some hunky, some not so hunky) ride horses, joust, and sword fight. Not to mention the impeccably trained horses.
  2. Winning money at the casinos! I have NEVER gambled before, so I can’t believe how much fun I had playing penny slots. And $0.25 video blackjack. I almost lost my ass a couple times, but I came out pretty even.
  3. Spending time with Chad on a trip with no dirtbikes, no time restraints, and SUN! I got him a great outfit to wear, but he never did. And he swears he will never wear the shoes again, but I think I could PROBABLY twist his arm to wear them again. Especially because we have some weddings to attend this summer.
  4. Fat Tuesday! No better deal than $1 jello shots. WITH WHIPPED CREAM! Bomb.com.
  5. Free drinks while gambling. Give me a vodka pineapple at my Black and White Sevens penny machine and I will be happy all night.
My 3 least favorite things about the trip are as follows:
  1. The hotel bathroom. To the naked eye, it looked great when you walk in. Big tub to the right, big shower, double sinks. Then to go through another door into what I like to refer to as the toilet closet. It seems like a great idea at first glance. Until you realize that the aforementioned closet has no fan in it. And when Chad goes into the bathroom for 10 minutes, followed by Kenny for another 10, if you cherish your life, you will want a fan on in there. Take my word for it. Then you can add to that fact that all the dang doors up in that joint need to be hit with some serious WD40. Nothing like trying to be considerate of your compadres when you have to pee early in the morning and having it screech like the hinges on a casket in a horror movie.
  2. Walking. The strip is quite a long stretch, in case you didn’t know. Especially when it is 100 degrees outside and you are used to the toasty mid 60s of the Seattle area. I tore up one of my toes on my cheap flippy floppies, and the bottoms of my feet were quite sore and let’s just say that Chad is not the most gentle when it comes to a foot rub.
  3. The cost of drinks at clubs/restaurants. We did a Club Crawl package which took us to Cathouse, LAX, Studio 54, and Pure. It seemed like a killer deal for only $74, which included cover, and party bus (with alcohol) between clubs. That is until you realized that the drinks in those places were all over $10 a piece! At Cathouse I ordered a cocktail (for a mere $12) and an ice water, and the douche nozzle in there told me that he was “not allowed” to serve me ice water. Which is a load of shit if you ask me. Anyways, those prices were a little high, but pretty close to what the cost of drinks were at all the restaurants also.
So that is the synapsis of our trip. So let the pictures commence. (For more about our trip, you can hop over to my BFFL Kristine's blog here, as I am sure she will be posting a plethora of good stuff herself.)

(Bellagio... BEAUTIFUL)

(Some of my faves from Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum)

(Random Pics from throughout the trip)

(The Venetian... another gorgeous hotel)

(Chad and I out "clubbin"... check out his half unbuttoned shirt. Sexy.)

That's it for now kids. I will probably have more stories at a later date.
