The Truth, the Whole Truth, and Nothing But the Truth

Today, rather than my usual pinterest post where I decide to share whatever the heck I want, I decided to share pins that I feel actually apply to my life. Enjoy.

TV Talk

Now that there is no more Boob Tube Babble link up, I feel like I NEVER get a chance to talk about my favorite TV shows (except with my friend in real life... but that's not the same).
So now that a lot of my favorite shows are coming to their season finales I NEED to talk about them. *Spoilers Ahead*

Pretty Little Liars

It's been a while since I've really talked about PLL, just because I've been busy and so many people are at different places in the season as far as what they've see. Here are my thoughts lately:

I don't know how to feel about Mona. I do feel like she is being played by Red Coat... she has those little glimpses where she kind of indicates that she may not be ALL bad, but at the same time she made her own bed.
I was also SO happy to hear that Toby was on the A team so that he could protect Spencer. That was what I was thinking the whole time, but I just can't be sure with these people.
I'm also really glad that the girls discovered what Spencer was hiding so they could all stick together.

Now, for those of you who also read the books, what are your thoughts on the fire at the end? It makes me wonder where Melissa is in all of this, as well as Cici.

The Lying Game

I am really starting to question who the real murderer is. I was totally on track thinking it was Rebecca, but at the same time I don't know... It makes sense. She did mention about how Jordan made that call from the wrong city when the crowbar was put in Alec's golf bag, and it makes sense to me that she might go after Theresa in order to protect Ted. But the way she was crying when she talked to Emma made me kind of feel like maybe she was just trying to get her family back together and didn't mean anything as sinister as murder.

I'm really glad that Emma and Sutton are getting along better, and that Ted knows about them being together. But i really wish they would tell Kristin. I think that the longer they hide it from her, the worse it's going to look later.

And Thayer... WHOA. When he kicked Emma out at the end of the night, it for sure seemed like he was going to physically hurt her, and then it shows that big metal stake in his couch. Is he in cahoots with Rebecca? Is he doing it so he can get closer to Emma, to drive her and Ethan apart??

Bunheads

What the hell happened to this show?? There hasn't been a new episode since February 11, but there wasn't a finale or anything like that, and then nothing has been said!

I'm also feeling the same way with Nashville. I love this show... I am really hoping that Deacon and Rayna end up together again, but then after the surprise birthday party there hasn't been any new episodes, and no announcements about when it is coming back or anything. WTF?

Anyways, those are my current TV addictions. Anything else good that I should be watching??

Blog Love

I can't lie... I was a little bit scared when I finally logged into Google Reader again and saw that it was going away... FOREVER.

So now I'm on board with Blog Lovin' (and I really think I might like it better than Google Reader anyways), so please Follow my blog with Bloglovin.

MIA

Some of you may have noticed that I've been fairly MIA these past couple weeks.
There's no specific reason for it, honestly. I just needed a break from putting so much blog pressure on myself. I know that may sound incredibly stupid, since it's not like I have sponsors to worry about or some huge list of followers. But somehow my blog turned away from being something for me to share my thoughts on to something that I felt NEEDED to be written. I found myself stepping away from my real life in order to tell my blog followers about what the heck I felt like doing.

I can be such a tool sometimes.

With that said, I have started being a bit better about taking pictures of what I do with my time, so when I DO take the time to blog, I have actual things to show you aside from what I may have eaten for dinner.

Here's a few things that I have managed to capture in the past couple weeks:

Snuggling with Buck

Feeding Frankenstein

Having some barbecues

Feeding on the farm.

Um... watching this happen...

 Sneaking up on the kitty.

Playing with this little fella (yes, he's roasting a marshmallow on the barbecue)

Loving where we live.

Watching the boys watch Supercross on little dirtbikes.

Yep, just a glimpse into my life lately. I've also been trying to work out, selling stuff on Craigslist, starting to figure out a wedding budget, and working like a dog. Oh, and pinning things on Pinterest. The important things in life.

Cirque du Soleil

Last night was the night that we redeemed our Christmas gift from my sister and brother in law... our front row tickets to Cirque du Soleil!

We all met up and drove over to Marymoor Park together (for those of you who don't live in this area, Marymoor is a HUGE park that has an offleash dog park, climbing wall, baseball fields, and hosts events, such as Cirque du soleil).

Our night started by spending a crap ton of money on beer/wine/popcorn. Then we went to our seats, and Chad and I left our stuff to go to the bathroom. While we were gone, one of the employees came and knocked his beer over. The people behind us were just apalled because not only did she just knock it over and not bother bringing him a new one, but she also just left the spilled beer all over the floor. They ended up complaining because they didn't want to sit with their feet in sticky beer all night, so she got all snotty and came and mopped it up, and also got Chad a new beer, so it all worked out.

Anyways, back to the point. If you've never seen a Cirque du Soleil show, DO IT! It is so amazing... the actors are really engaging, they interact with the audience, and the performers are just awesome. Chad wasn't very excited to go at first, just because it isn't the type of thing that normally grabs his interest, but he really had a good time also (granted, now he says he is getting a unicycle and is going to set up giant swings from the trees in our yard, but thats another battle all together).

It was a great night and a great Christmas gift idea!

Books, Books, and More Books

I am really quite late in posting these book reviews. On my trip to Disneyland I read a LOT, since we spent about 20 hours on the road both on the way down and back. So I am FINALLY going to share with you the books I read.

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

In Memoirs of a Geisha, we enter a world where appearances are paramount; where a girl's virginity is auctioned to the highest bidder; where women are trained to beguile the most powerful men; and where love is scorned as an illusion. It is a unique and triumphant work of fiction - at once romantic, erotic, suspenseful - and completely unforgettable.

I really didn't know what I was expecting from this book, but to me it was one of those books that wasn't ever really working towards anything. It's not like a suspense or a thriller where you are waiting to find out who the murderer is, or chick lit where you are just reading and waiting for the guy and the girl to finally be together. But, somehow I still managed to keep picking it up. I think the thing that really interested me the most was the historical knowledge that I came away with. This is a culture that I know NOTHING about, so I feel like I learned a lot, even though it is a fiction.
Overall I enjoyed it, but it's not my favorite type of book. I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Heart on a Chain by Cindy C Bennett

17-year-old Kate has lived her whole life in abject poverty, with an alcoholic father and drug-addicted mother, who severely abuses Kate. At school, her second-hand clothing marks her as a target. Her refusal to stand up for herself makes her the recipient of her classmates taunts and bullying. That is, until Henry returns. Henry Jamison moved away six years earlier, just as he and Kate had begun to develop feelings for one another. He returns to find the bright, funny, outgoing girl he had known now timidly hiding in corners, barely speaking to anyone around her, suspicious of even him. Kate can't figure out what game Henry is playing with her - for surely it is a game. What else would the gorgeous, popular boy from her past want with her? Kate finally decides to trust Henry's intentions, opening her heart to him. Just when it seems he might be genuine in his friendship, tragedy strikes, threatening everything Kate has worked so hard to gain. Can Henry help her to overcome this new devastation, or will it tear them apart forever?

This story is so sad. A teenager who has no escape from her life anywhere. But then along comes this guy who, literally, saves her life. One of those classic "opposites attract" kind of stories. It's definitely a young adult book, and it was a very quick read for me. But I really enjoyed the story.
4 out of 5 stars.

Crash by Nicole Williams

Jude Ryder and Lucy Larson are this generation's Romeo and Juliet: Explosive. Sizzling. Tragic.
A steamy summer encounter with bad boy Jude means trouble for Lucy. Her sights are set on becoming a ballerina, and she won't let anything get in her way . . . except Jude.
He's got a rap sheet, dangerous mood swings, and a name that's been sighed, shouted, and cursed by who knows how many girls.
Jude's a cancer, the kind of guy who's fated to ruin the lives of girls like Lucy—and he tells her so.
But as rumors run rampant and reputations are destroyed, Lucy's not listening to Jude's warning. Is tragedy waiting in the wings? This racy romance is hot, hot, hot!

I don't particularly like Amazon's description, but it gives you the general idea. Talented ballerina meets juvenile delinquent. They fall in love. There is drama. There is romance.
Another young adult book that I read through really fast. It kind of had the same kind of theme as Heart on a Chain where one person is saving another from their lives.
I give this one 3.5 out of 5.

Well friends, those are my most recent reads. Sorry I held out on you so long!

Irrational Concerns

I know that everybody has really strange irrational things that really make them nervous.
Right? I sure fracking hope so.

Here are a couple of mine:

Forgetting to go back to work after lunch. Now, I know this is damn near impossible to do. But I can't even tell you the number of dreams I've had where I go running errands at lunch, and then something happens, like my dog runs away, and I call in and say "hey, sorry, but I'm going to be a few minutes late getting back from lunch". And the next thing you know, my house is on fire, or my car gets stolen, or some other cockamamie thing happens and I look at the clock and it's been 4 hours and I am just absolutely certain that I am going to lose my job.
So obviously I am horrified that these things will happen in real life.

My engagement ring falling off. This one isn't something that I really am concerned about in my day to day life, but let me tell you... when i was in California I was absolutely positive that my ring would magically fly off my finger (which would have been locked in a death grip around the handle of whatever ride we were on) and i would never see it again.
It could happen, yeah?

Just popping in to share those little tidbits of information with you.
