Sometimes I Wish I Was an Idiot

I really do.

Sometimes I wish I didn't have any common sense.
Because then maybe all these weight loss "revelations" would make a difference.
Like when you see the advice "drink 8 glasses of water a day and you will melt your fat away!"
Hi. I've been trying to lose weight for years. I already drink a shit ton of water a day. I don't drink soda very much. I still have a gnarly gut!
I also hate seeing "working for 30 minutes a day 5 days a week and the pounds will come off". No, they don't. I've worked out an hour at a time, twice a day, SIX DAYS A WEEK before and the weight doesn't seem to come off.

It's annoying. It's really frustrating. It makes me want to give up.

Sometimes i think that if I weren't so damn smart (I know that sounds cocky) and I weren't already trying those things and failing with them, maybe I would be happier. Maybe I would be more optimistic and would be able to say "well EUREKA! I just need to stop drinking full fat mochas and soda all day for a while and I'll be a size 6 again!"

I'm reaching that frustrating plateau again where I've lost 6-7 pounds and it just stops and i just want to scream and cry and give up.

FML.

I hate when people tell you that if you just did one thing differently you would lose weight. And while advice is great, it isn't always one of those things that you want someone's input on. HOWEVER, if u are finding it impossible to lose weight, there could be a medical reason. I hate fat lazy people saying that they can't lose weight because of some medical thing when they have never even tried... but it doesn't hurt to at least look into (ok, so the blood work might hurt a little if you are a wuss like me).

Bahaha, you crack me up! I almost spit out my Dr. Pepper when reading "I still have a gnarly gut!"...hilarious stuff cause it's so true.

Dont give up though, because 6-7 lbs lost is better than 6-7 lbs gained.
