The Night Circus

This week I will be sharing with you The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

I first heard about this book from another blog. At the time I wasn't sure if it was a book that I would really be interested in reading. But as time went on, I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I bought it.

I'm glad I did.
This is the synopsis from the inside cover:

The circus arrives without warning. no announcements precede it, no paper notices plastered on lampposts and billboards. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not.

Within these nocturnal black-and-white striped tents awaits an utterly unique experience, a feast for the senses where one can get lost in a maze of clouds, meander through a lush garden made of ice, stare in wonderment as the tattooed contortionist folds herself into a small glass box, and become deliciously tipsy from the scents of caramel and cinnamon that waft through the air.

Welcome to Le Cirque des Reves.

Beyond the smoke and mirrors, however, a fierce competition is under way - a contest between two young illusionists, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood to compete in a "game" to which they have been irrevocably bound by their mercurial masters. Unbeknownst to the players, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will.

The synopsis is really long, but that is the part you need to know to get the idea.
There is romance, magic, and twists that you wouldn't expect.

I would give it probably 4 out of 5 stars because it was a good, easy, fun read for me. the only thing I didn't like is that there is a LOT of characters. Usually as I read a book, I can remember who is who and what their importance is. But there was a couple characters that you are introduced to, and then later in the book they show up again and I found myself going, "wait, who the hell is he again?"

Anyways, I would recommend this book to someone that is into a little bit of the magic scene.
